11/05/2011 - Polam Hall School's Mock Royal Wedding

Polam Hall School has hosted a mock wedding service, in St Cuthbert’s Church, Darlington, in honour of the Royal Wedding.

The service was conducted by the Reverend Robert Williamson and saw Erin Robinson and Sam Kitson, pupils from Year 6 perform the roles of Catherine Middleton and Prince William, with children from a range of year groups acting as Bridesmaids and Page Boys.

Following the service there was a procession of vehicles back to the school led by a hired vintage wedding car. The grand finale was a wedding reception, held in the school’s impressive grounds, where pupils and parents celebrated the royal ‘marriage’..

The guests enjoyed a delicious wedding feast, prepared by students in food technology lessons, which included wedding cake and heart shaped biscuits.
