Fish and chip restaurant Barkers of Richmond has welcomed two dignitaries through its doors almost a year to the day after it burned down.

On May 14, 2008, an electrical fire wreaked havoc through the building in Trinity Square.

However, following a major year-long refurbishment, Barkers reopened its doors this week and has welcomed Yorkshire & Humber MEP Timothy Kirkhope and the Mayor of Richmond, Councillor Judith Steggles, through its doors to perform the official opening.
