Housing Hartlepool has demonstrated its commitment to the community with the official opening of a much-needed multi-purpose facility.

It has ploughed £250,000 into breathing new life into a disused building which is now a base for a combination of community and health services.

The Phoenix Centre's rebirth has been marked by an official opening ceremony where Hartlepool MP Iain Wright unveiled a plaque.
