TADEA team up with the mayor of Hartlepool to promote free housing insulation

Thousands of homes in Hartlepool can beat the big freeze and save money by taking advantage of a free home insulation scheme.
Hartlepool Borough Council’s Hartwarmers initiative and TADEA, the North East not-for-profit energy advice service, have teamed up to offer free cavity wall and loft insulation for qualifying homeowners in the town.
Families with children under 16 and those aged over 55 can have cavity wall and loft insulation installed for free. All other households pay just £99, a saving of around £200 - £300.
Mayor Stuart Drummond launched the scheme by helping contractors install insulation at the home of Philip Gleaves and Lauren Burton on the Headland.

FUNDING BOOSTS INSULATION PLANS FOR MORE THAN 500,000 NORTH EAST HOMES

The North East Home Insulation Partnership (NEHIP) has received a £103,000 funding award which will help it to achieve its goals of free insulation for vulnerable homes in the region.
More than 500,000 homes in the North East are believed to have inadequate insulation and this award, from Defra’s Community Energy Efficiency Fund, is expected to see many of those homes receive aid in time for Winter 2008
